Clean Up Your Credit Report

There are several ways to clean up your credit report but they will take some time to do. Don’t believe some of these credit repair companies that say they can do it fast. There is no way that they can legally clean up your report fast. Some things take time and this is one of them.

First off getting rid of the old negative credit reporting and getting caught up with past due creditors will help some and will raise your credit score up some. But in order to do what you want to do and get that credit score high enough to get a loan with better interest rates you will have to totally rebuild your credit. You will have to prove to the agency that you are responsible enough to handle your credit. This will be difficult at first but if you want it bad enough you will tough it out.

Now if your credit is so bad that it has left you without any credit cards you will want to get one somewhere. The bank or financial institution is probably not the place to try but you have other options.

First you might try a gasoline credit card or perhaps a department store card. If worse comes to worse you can get a secured credit card. But watch out for bad credit cards as they will have such high interest rates that will make paying them off almost impossible.

Also you want to avoid prepaid cards because even though they advertise that you can get one regardless of your history, they do not report to the credit bureaus so using one will do you absolutely no good.

Someone once said “If you want to get out of the hole..stop digging”. This is true when you are trying to clean up your credit report. Don’t fall back into the old habits that got you here. Start new with a brand new mind set. Don’t just charge things because you can. Be somewhat frugal. Pay cash if you can and stay out of the whole charge it game. If you do these things you will be well on your way to cleaning up your credit report.
